About this game
Tile Link is the classic shisen-sho style puzzle in lithappy's soft pastel kit. An 8 by 10 grid is filled with ten different shapes - circles, stars, hexagons, hearts and more - and your job is to clear the whole board by linking matching pairs. The catch is that the connecting line between any two tiles can turn at most twice, and the line is only allowed to pass through empty cells or around the outer edge of the board. Early moves are easy because empty spaces are plentiful; the closing five minutes turn into proper logic when only a few tiles remain and most paths are walled off. Your move count is your score, with fewer being better. Your personal best is saved between sessions so each restart is a small wager against your past efficiency. No timer pressure, no failure state - if you make the wrong link, the move is wasted but the round goes on.
Tips & tricks
- Clear edges first. Tiles on the border can always link via the empty space outside the board.
- If two pairs both work, pick the one that opens an empty channel through the middle - that channel feeds future links.
- Keep mental notes of single survivors. If you have only one of a symbol exposed, finding its partner gets harder fast.
- When stuck, scan column by column for pairs of the same symbol in the same row - those are nearly always linkable.
- Don't be afraid to leave a tile in the middle as the last move; corners are usually harder to clear at the end.
