About this game
Block Drop is lithappy's homage to the falling-block puzzle genre - a fresh original take, not a clone, built from scratch in vanilla HTML5. Seven candy-coloured shapes drift down a 10 by 20 board, and your job is to rotate and slide them into snug rows. Every time you complete a horizontal line it lights up with a soft white flash, dissolves, and the stack above slides down. Clearing multiple rows in a single drop is where the real points hide. The pace gets quicker every ten cleared lines, so what starts as a relaxed warm-up gradually tightens into a focused dexterity puzzle. A ghost projection shows where the active piece will land, soft-drop earns extra points, and a one-piece preview helps you plan your next move. High scores save locally so you can chase your own ceiling.
Tips & tricks
- Watch the Next preview - the right rotation chosen one piece early is worth ten frantic adjustments later.
- Leave a clean column on the far edge for the long bar; clearing four rows in one drop is a huge score boost.
- Use the ghost outline rather than guessing - it tells you exactly where the piece will land.
- Soft-drop pieces you're sure about to bank extra points and keep your rhythm.
- If the stack gets jagged, prioritise filling the lowest gaps first - never build on top of a hole you can't reach.
