About this game
Block Fit is a quiet, no-timer puzzle game that asks one question over and over: where does this piece go? Each turn the tray on the bottom hands you three random shapes drawn from a small library - singles, pairs, L-shapes, plus signs, full lines - and your job is to place all three on an 8 by 8 grid. The moment a row or column is fully filled, it clears and you score. The catch is that you can only place; nothing rotates, nothing wipes away on its own. Plan greedily and you box yourself in within minutes; plan carefully and you can chain multi-line clears for huge points. The game ends when none of the three shapes in the tray can fit anywhere on the grid - a quiet, recoverable kind of loss that always makes you want to try again. Your personal best is saved between sessions, and a soft pastel palette keeps the whole experience friendly even when you mess up.
Tips & tricks
- Save the bottom row and rightmost column for line pieces - they are the easiest spots to clear without setting up troubles.
- Plan all three pieces in your head before placing any of them. Random placement is a fast way to deadlock.
- If a corner of the board is filling up with awkward holes, prioritise filling the matching row even at a tiny score loss.
- Double clears (a row and a column at once) score more than two singles. Stack them when you can.
- When the game looks tight, look for L-shaped pieces - they can pivot into spots straights cannot.
