Gas (Up/W/Space) accelerates and lifts the nose; brake (Down/S) slows and dips it. In the air gas spins back, brake spins forward. Left/Right fine-tune. P to pause.

Hold the right half for gas - it also lifts the nose, so pulse it on climbs. The left half leans you back.

About this game

Moto Hill is a pocket-sized physics racer set on a never-ending pastel landscape. You ride a candy-coloured motorcycle that wants nothing more than to climb the next hill, but each crest you crest also wants nothing more than to send you tumbling backwards. The throttle is also your balance: holding it lifts the front wheel, and on a climb a greedy thumb will loop you onto your back - pulse the gas in a press-release rhythm, brake to slow down and dip the nose, and use gas (spin back) or brake (spin forward) in the air to land flat. There is no track and no finish line - the world generates fresh terrain beneath you as you go, and your only enemy is the angle of your own back. Crash by flipping completely over and the run ends; your travelled distance becomes your score, and your personal best is saved between sessions. Quick to start, hard to master, with a soft palette and a forgiving feel that makes restarts welcome instead of frustrating.

Tips & tricks

  • Never pin the gas on a climb - the wheelie torque keeps building until it beats the spring and loops you over. Press and release in rhythm with the slope.
  • The brake does more than slow you down: it dips the nose on the ground and spins you forward in the air. Tap it before a crest to keep your jumps low.
  • In the air, gas spins you back and brake spins you forward - match the landing slope before you touch down. Left/Right are only for small trims.
  • Nose climbing too high? Release the gas and tap the brake right away - the spring will catch you, but not past the tipping point.
  • Watch a few terrain peaks ahead, not the wheel beneath you - you'll react one beat earlier.
